Hello everybody.

Another South African friend and myself are visiting the USA on a 7 week driving holiday. We land in Chicago on 2nd June; pick up a hire car and set off down the old Route 66 (now mostly I 40) to LA.
Then we’ll do the Southern route from San Diego to San Antoine / Austin, and on to New Orleans. And from there, back up the Mississippi valley to Chicago. We’ll be stopping in Branson for a few days en-route.
We are meeting some friends in several locations along the way, and hope to hear as much great music as we can.

If anybody would like to chip in as to some of the great music clubs to visit, and pickers to hear in the towns along the way, we would appreciate it very much.

I’ll be posting the occasional update along the way, as I will organize myself with an Ipad on arrival.

Many thanks. Hope to bump into as many of you as possible on our travels.

Thanks Rudy. We are looking forward to meeting up with you in Branson. I'll contact you in about 10 days, once we have arrived and are on the road, and are sorted with a USA cellphone etc. If you're buying lunch, we're buying dinner. Sez

Sez, on Interstate 8 from San Diego you'll have to get on Interstate 10, at that junction turn right for Tucson or left for Mesa just 40 miles up the road to Mesa.
I'd love for you to stop in and visit me here at the Justice Steel Guitar Shop.
You might even want to go see Mike Smith or Danny Sneed play. Very Happy

Bon Voyage Sez.

I met Danie Saturday night at a gig and he told me that you guys will be visiting the States.

Good luck and bring back some licks.

Jan

@ Fred.
Thank you Fred, very much for the invite to your Steel Guitar Factory. We would love to visit. I will phone you once we are on our journey and update you with our progress. Our travel plans are fairly flexible, so we might spend an extra day here and there, and catch up another day elsewhere. So by the time we get to Phoenix, we could be a day or two adrift of our original schedule. Looking forward to meeting you and 'drooling' over your beautiful guitars. I'll talk to you about us getting to hear your two Steel Playing friends once we are on the road. Both wonderful players. I would love to hear them.

@ Jan.
Thanks Jan.
Is there anything you need us to bring back for you. Strings. Picks, Books, etc? Im going to looks for some Herco Picks for Paul Greeff.
