I've had a love-hate relationship with my Emmons S-10. I believe it is a 1971 PP set up in Emmons E9 with a fourth pedal which is 1/2 of the Franklin change. It also has 4 knee bars. Truth is, I purchased it here but have had little time to play with it! It needs a setup too. Does anyone know of someone in the Austin area who can do this? It mostly works well, but LKR doesn't hit the stop well and RKR doesn't either. There is a lot of slop in RKR. You have to move it way too much for anything to happen.
Additionally, the LKL is supposed to bring string 4 to an "intermediate" tone (not pulled to a stop) and I have a hard time tuning that.
Also, I can't find a serial number on this guitar! Is that bad news? How do I verify the vintage apart from what the seller told me?
Also, my Emmons volume pedal causes a slightly "scratchy" sound when using it. Can anything be done there?
I am a beginner, but I know I'd get into playing it more if everything worked really nicely. Any help or advice would be appreciated. In all fairness, the seller refunded a chunk of my money to do the setup but I just haven't done it yet! Thanks, Omar Zia. |
