can someone tell me real quick the gauge number of the strings on the standard E9 guitar? I have them from top to bottom as: .013, .015, .011 (.010), .014, .017, .020, .026w. .030w, .034w, .036w ..is this correct? |

Ronald, a quick google search turned this up.

I'm not sure about the .010 for the 3rd, I think .0115 and .012 would be more common alternates for the .011.
I use a .0115 myself.
Might be better to get advice on the .010 from the more experienced players.

This should be moved to the pedal steel section.
The answer depends on who you ask, since different players have different needs and/or preference. I use the SIT Buddy Emmons sets for E9. High to low: 12, 15, 11, 14, 18, 22, 26W, 30W, 34W, 38W. Once you find what you like, its a good idea to stick with the same gauges to avoid having to retune pedals and levers. |
