I don't know how standard or classic it is, but my all-time favorite steel recording is "Tenderly" by Noel Boggs.

Cool Thank you Ray, I haven't heard of half of those.
It'll be fun to check them out.

There is a youtube video of Garland Nash playing a sweet version of Coconut Grove.
Thanks again fellas.

Jim......."Westphalia Waltz" along with "The Waltz You Saved for me" are from Bud Issac's early day RCA Victor records. Numerous other tunes I listed are his recordings, as well.

Steve:........I've never heard the song your referenced. Leon did a great song that went 'pop' back in the '50's......called PanHandle Waltz. It's a great A tuning song.

Thanks for participating in this thread.

Hank Thompson had a great version of Westphalia Waltz also.

Was it Bob White on steel?

Did anyone list "Sawed Off Shotgun". Can't remember first name but last nae is "Caple". He just recently passed on ! This is one of my favorite instrumentals. I believe "Georgia Steel Guitar" was written and first recorded by Boots Harris with the Curly Williams Band.

name was ROCKY CAPLE

And an oldie which is quite remarkable:

The Genial Hawaiians doing 'The Song of the Range,' which was re-released on CD by Grass Skirt Records.

Just heard Yesterday's Waltz by Bud Isaacs on Pandora.
Been getting quite a bit of classic steel there -- just have to stay with it and keep gving the thumbs down when it gets off track. Wink
