I am trying to sell my Sierra Crown model D-10 with serial number S.896.92 which I believe makes it a 1992.
A prospective buyer from Sweden wants to know the scale and I can't tell him as the steel is in Florida while I am in China. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
steve |

Measure from where the string contacts the nut, to where it contacts the finger, and you will have your answer. _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)

A better way is to measure from the 5th fret to the 12th and multiply by 4. _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Scott, Ron: Reread his second sentence.
Then formulate a procedure to implement your suggestion. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Look at the fretboard in your photos. 12th fret. Doesn't it have a crown and the numbers 25 there? That makes it a 25" scale. That's what it looks like as near as I can tell from your post. Sierra Crown 25. Like this one.
The Crown 25 was out around 1987 with the new brass gearless tuner design. As I recall, the shorter scale had a solid line marker with the 2 points at either end on the 12th fret, like the one at the 24th fret. |

Jerry is correct. I have 2 of them and both have the crown with the 25 in it. _________________ Whip Lashaway

I want to thank all of you guys who came in with helpful information except for Chris Ivey who has blown my cover. I actually have been living in a small, but comfortable cave, in the hills just outside of Pittsburgh these past 17 years. Jerry, I believe you are exactly right about that Crown on mine at the 12th fret as I went back and viewed the photos. stevet |
