I have a Webb amp that I believe needs repair. It is lacking " punch" and seams thin and tinny. Who would you recommend I have check it out?

But at least you can take in it's beauty.
Have you contacted Tom Bradshaw? I'm sure any real competent SS tech could work on it if he could get the schematic.

The problem is obvious. You have to tip you guitar on it's side, and lay on your side to play it. Everything will be OK then.

Problem is...It is Red 
Would work better if it was green. I recovered this and new grill cloth too.
I contacted Tom and he said find who a local music store uses for their amps. Webb's are very straight forward in their design. I took mine to a local tech and had him check it over and he said it would not be difficult to work on. Mine didn't need any work...but at least I know where he is. |

I would play my guitar on its side but as u can see, my floor is on my wall and I refuse to play my guitar on the wall. I have standards! Theyre very low, but theyre mine. Thanks all, I'll find a local tech.

Patrick, the first step in Webb tone is where to turn the the middle knob. Far left is emulation of tube tone; this will be the thinnest, tinniest sound, that may be your source of tone probs. Middle is hybrid of tube/solid state. Far right is solid state.
I have 2 of these. Originally loved the middle setting, but after hearing Bobby Black pump out big, full, in-you-face tone on the far right setting, went there and almost never use the other two tones, except when I want a more Mooney thin sound.

I have one of the last Webb's. It had a small electronic issue. I contacted Tom Bradshaw .He was prompt, helpful, and obliging. I service manual with the full plans for a moderate cost, got my amp repaired by a competent local music electronics fellow, and I feel well prepared for the future!
By the way, the purchase of the Webb was the only time in a half century of buying amps for performing, that I actually traded $$$ for tone and enjoyed a completely satisfying experience!!! (Telonics volume pedal comes close...) CAn't say enough about the Webb andI appreciate Tom Bradshaw's attempt to resurrect it and his ongoing assistance.

It's not a setting issue. It changed drastically in a short time. I contacted Tom and he is sending me a schematic and it will go to the repair shop when it's gets here. Can't say enough about how good Tom is to work with!
