Hi Folks
...thought I'd open this up to you lot...after a pulley for a Sho Bud Volume pedal that I recently acquired. The pulley is missing...so if someone out there has the same, and could supply a picture/drawing and some measurements, ....then perhaps I might 'knock up' the same!!??
Also missing is the 'guide'...that 'guides' (hehehe!!) the cord from the pulley to the spring at the heel end of the pedal.
Phew!!!!....hope that makes sense...
Perhaps someone might have these bits knocking around... ...unlikely I know!! |

I have a Sho-bud pedal that I've modified to provide better support for the potentiometer. It includes a new brass pulley piece that I made and an brass angle mounting piece that provides a secondary bearing surface for the pot shaft end so the string doesn't exert such radial force on the pot itself. This mod extends the life of the pot immensely. See photo.

Kevin - a common or garden alloy bracket that can be purchased from B&Q will do the job. Easily cut, shaped and drilled.

Kevin - that is what I was referring to. The spring at the base of the pedal merely connects both the top and bottom halves of the pedal to make the pedal default to the off position. I have 3 Sho~Bud pedals and they are just smooth and comfortable.
You just need a bracket that is 1/2" wide and with 1" on one side and !/2" on the overhang. You just need to drill a hole to screw the bracket onto the post and file a small groove into the shorter side of the bracket for the string to pass over. The string is finally wrapped around the fixing screw for the bracket which is then tightened and pinches the string tight.

Hhhmmnnn....so unlike my Hilton pedal...which stays where I've left it, once I remove my foot...the Sho Bud pedal is designed to switch/default to off??
Doesn't seem as convenient....say when selecting an effect with the right foot....!!

You can overcome that problem. Just tighten the 2 side mounting bolts. Also a new pot will slightly increase the stiffness and prevent the pedal spring from pulling the upper half of the pedal up.
