I had a Surprise Retirement Party Saturday, April 27, 2013. I am officially retiring from Dodge as a Service Advisor in May. At my retirement party I was surprised with many friends and family from all over. We played music and danced all night long. At one point we had five steel guitar players in the room: myself, Bobby Bowman, Luther Thompson, Mark Greenwood and Paul King. In addition, we had numerous other musicians, Doug Martin, Gene Brown, Brian Sutton, Bruce Lee, Dusty Rhodes, David Smith, Billy Dozier and Ray Brooks just to mention a few. I also received congratulation cards from many that could not attend including Wayne Morton and Joe Naylor. It was a great night. Now I will have more time to do what I love, play music and fish! P.S. Bobby's wife, Toni made me the most incredible chocolate cake. Thanks Toni.

Cliff, I was sure thrilled to come out even if it was a short time. Playing music with other steel players is a blast. You were sure surprised when you walked in that door. Congratulations on your retirement and hopefully we can get a jam together soon.

Hey Paul, I appreciate you coming and Mark Greenway too!! Wish you guys would have played too. It was a blast!!! Anytime you have Bobby Bowman and Luther Thompson in the same room, there's gonna be som fun pickin'!! I appreciat ALL the people that came, also my wife Julie and all the band members that worked so hard to set it up!!! The Rustlers are one big family. I guess that's why everyone that hears them enjoys them so much. Doug Martin has a great voice, Gene Brown plays a great fiddle,Bruce Lee on bass and Brian Sutton on drums is unbeatable. Throw thos guys in with the likes of Bobby Bowman, Luther Thompson, Billy Dozier, Dusty Rhodes, and Talk about pickin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to thank everyone who attended and those that helped pull it off. They will never know how much it meant to me. That's what makes more than friends. Bobby Drove all the up from Cypress Tx. to pick!! Others from all over Oklahoma and Nort Texas!! Love you all!!!!!!!!

Hey Larry, The Donut man didn't make it. Prior commitments or some such. Benny Kubiak was absent too. I'll see them tonight as we're playing here in Ada. Wish you could be here!!!
