Some folks would have you believe that GIBSON made some of the most beautiful, non-pedal, steel guitars ever marketed.
I'm without shame, one of those folk. There's a photo of one on the Marty Robbins post here on the SGF. Roy Wiggins and Don Helms, of course, both played them.
What's your opinion, as to pure beauty?
Any strong or favorable points about that model?
Any short comings?
Saw a look-alike a couple of years back at Scotty's St. Louis Convention.......and it surely was as pleasing to the eye as the actual Gibson units. |

Any steel guitar sounds only as good as the player who is picking the strings. Gibson, Fender, Guyatone Emmons, Sho-Bud all can sound like the voice of an angel in one person's hands; however, they can also sound like a tortured cat in another's hands.
Either you can feel the music that comes from it or you can't! |

I've had several models of Gibson console steels that were truly works of art. Many of their lap steels are gorgeous as well. Their own distinct feel, tone and vibe as well different from Fender and others. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

Who is the person/firm that is currently making the look-alike Gibson double necks?
The one I saw up close in St. Louis was truly a beautiful work of art. |

I also had a Gibson Grande.(D- It really was a pretty instrument till I started to drill holes attempting to fabricate pedals. Even with that, I'd like to have it back.

I'm confused about the pedal set-up. Might you explain more about how they operate.
Thanx for sharing. |

Ray Its not mine I just came across it when I was doing a search for C6Th G or D for the first string. Just though you might enjoy looking at it. _________________ 78 Emmons PP,Great tone.82 Emmons SKH #56 |
