I am so impressed with my MSA Super Slide and Reece's C6 12 String tuning. The guitar is made vey well and I am blown away at the weight of 22 pounds with the stand (eight pounds on your lap). It is amazing with the tuning as to how many nice little pockets there are in this tuning.
With a neck strap this little 12 string weighs 8 pounds and the music making ability from that 8 pounds is something else. I think I will be playing more outside the studio on the Super Slide as even though my Millennium is carbon fiber it is still pretty heavy and takes time to teardown and set up, where the Super Slide is like a Tele, no set up, and it is easy to play standing up. I am really happy with this Super Slide.
Smile

I've been playing my superslide 10 string pretty exclusively. I love it.

I like the modern appearance of the SuperSlide and the precision wormanship.

And the 12 string C6 tuning with chromatic strings on top is indeed very versatile:

Congrats on your new guitar Niels!

Thanks Greg,
As if Reece telling me I needed one was not enough all the good audio you posted on the internet cinched the deal. I am not a TAB player but for someone whom is you set up a nice little course for them.
I think having a 5 at the 1 and a 4 at the b7 , with no pedals, is awesome. It should be incorporated on my Uni. I asked Reece about a F9/C6 for my Uni and he thought I might not like it for traditional country. Again thanks Greg: it is guys like you that make this forum so great. It has been a blessing to me.
Godspeed my friend

Looking at the color, that might have been my original superslide. It is a beauty.

Hey Bill,
I don't know, I can't find a serial number, I will ask Reece where they might be. I just got all the proper string gauges so I had to order those, they should be here by Tuesday, these are pretty dead. Also on what Reece sent string 6 should be 22 wound what is yours? Anyways having a blast and liking it.

The serial number is on a little sticker at the end of the neck by the tuners.

SS121083: don't remember when I bought it.
Quite possibly in '08.

I remember I got my Redline Reso in '09 out of frustration because I could not get ANY music out of the 12 strings.

LOL.

I just found an old email to Stacy Phillips for his "Deluxe Dobro Songbook" in 2007.

So this must have been around the time that I started with this slide stuff.

I remember that for the longest time I found it exceedingly difficult to switch between the two instruments and the most frustrating thing about it was that I could not adjust to the narrow string spacing of the superslide.

I could not even hit the strings that I thought were the right ones.

It only clicked when I played a show with Hank/Patsy tunes (maybe '10?): I had to sit down and learn the parts off the recordings and make up my own for a lot of the Patsy songs.

I'm afraid it does not mean anything else than targeted practice instead of noodling around pays off.

And Joe Wrights Sierra videos were really eye opening last year. Mostly for his detailed explanation and drills for pick blocking.
