I was cleaning out a closet yesterday and ran across my old fanny pack. It is larger than the one's the ladies use. I bought it several years ago at one of those as seen on TV stores in Pigeon Forge for about $10.00. The buckle was broken on it, so I started to toss it into the trash. Then an idea hit me: THIS THING MIGHT BE A GREAT WAY TO ORGANIZE ALL MY STEEL GUITAR ACCESSORIES. The pack I have has 7 zippered compartments in various sizes. In one of the very small, corner compartments, I put my tuning wrench. In the other one, spare AA batteries for my tuner. In the largest compartment, I placed all my cords. The next largest compartment, I placed my spare sets of strings and the string winder. In the next compartment, I put in my Lil Izzy, and picks, that I keep in a medicine bottle. The next compartment is empty and the front compartment holds my bar, which is inside my leather picking pouch. I just grab the pack out of my pack a seat and I have everything right at my fingertips, neatly organized and protected. Oddly enough, my pack a seat could be thought of as a fanny pack a seat, which in turn, holds a fanny pack for my gear.

Yes, my English friends, "fanny" got me in trouble once when I told our Scottish receptionist that hers was in the way. She did not initially believe me that the word in the States is a cutesy, polite word for arse, and not the orifice some 45 degrees SSW.

For another troublesome example, my friend married a Brit. When his parents came to visit, they asked if there were any plans for the evening. She said "Sure, we're going shagging, do you want to come along?"

Very interesting auto-correct here on the forum, when I spelled esra in reverse, it was automatically replaced by "rear." I wonder what the UK SGF would substitute for fanny.

I don't think this forum has auto correct.
