I have a HD 130 212 that I used to play. I always thought it sounded pretty good with steel and could also double for as a guitar amp..I've been trying to sell it cause I can't hardly pick it up anymore. But I've been toying with the idea of putting the amp into a head only configuration.
I believe these have solid state pre-amp and a tube power amp? if so..
Is it possible to tap the power amp section with a modification?
Can anyone recommend a place to buy the cabinet and someone who could tap the power amp stage?

Thanks for any help.

The 2 TRS jacks on the front panel allow you to run an effects loop between the pre, and power amp.

Bill, I don't have this on the front, unless you mean the two input channels... nothing like this on the back either.

I guess I should know what I'm talking about before I post! I have an RD100, and that's the way it is configured, just assumed the 130 would be the same, but it's not.

Somebody may blast me for this but....I had an HD130 at one time. Yes, SS preamp. Most also had a 12A_7 as a phase inverter. There were a couple of different versions of this amp however.

I'd leave it alone and just cram it in the head cab.
