The "steeling from beyond the grave" jogged my memory regarding a "one-handed" steel that I had seen a while back. It took some digging - it's Jay Wasco's Egotar:

You really have to see it to appreciate its mad genius, and the impressive multitasking abilities of its creator. He manages to play steel, bass and sing at the same time. There are links on the page to some youtube videos, here are a couple of my favorites:
