I just got this beautiful Bud from Jim Palenscar. He was a pleasure to deal with and I would love to visit his shop. It was custom ordered from the factory as 12 string extended E9 and 10 string C6. I love it! I wanted to explore some deeper voicings on E9 and I am also excited to check out C6, especially with the boowah dropped A option. It was ordered by a fellow named Wilbur Keeton, who I understand was a great player from Texas. The guitar has an interesting combination of Sho-Bud style with the gumby headstocks, blue green tiger maple, and Super-Pro mechanics. I was planning on replacing the knee lever brackets, and just broke one. Jim has offered to help of course, but I have found one locally until I change them all out. My teacher, Ken Champion pronounced it "fantastic - sounds like a great 'Bud should!". I agree!

Nice gtr...congrats. I saw it down at Jim's awhile back.
Interesting to see a halfstop on the LKL...what's it doing?

Indeed. Jim is a prince. His service is second to none. We are privileged to have him.

Baxter: Did you know Wilbur? I saw that several folks said he was a great guy and great player. The guitar looks like it wasn't gigged a lot, but did you see him playing it in clubs?

Skip: The half stop on KL isn't doing anything currently. Being a newbie, I don't have any idea what it would have been used for.

Mike: Jim is indeed a prince among men, in my limited experience, and I really want to make a trip to SoCal and visit his shop. He has an amazing collection of steels - I had no idea until I called.
