Rod, you are about 10 km farther away from Dallas than I am, so I'm NOW much poorer than you since I was there & will be even more so when I fly over you to visit my in-laws in Newfoundland in the summer!! I shoot my photos in RAW format so it takes awhile for me to edit the over 400 that I took in Dallas. In addition to trying to play steel, I also play badminton and rugby. I will get some photos here when they are edited but the TSGA and the PSGA have first priority. Thanks for your patience. Jim H.

How about videos?

http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=242548

I'll be posting more as time allows. They're all non-pedal... no videoing allowed in the big room for some reason.

Jim was sitting about 2 chairs away from me when he took these pictures. He has a great camera rig and knows how to use it. I think he took pictures of almost every one. At least he did while I was sitting there.

Thanks for the photos Jim.

Thank you to all for your kind words re my photos!! I should take these words to my photo club meeting tomorrow! Sorry to be late with my thanks but I played a full rugby game this afternoon, then I had to watch "my" Canucks beat the Avalanche on TV. George, would you believe that 1 of your players lives in North Van., 2 in Vancouver, 2 in Burnaby (next to Van.), & 1 in Victoria on Van. Island!!

I've posted more of my Jamboree photos under the topic "Even MORE Pics from the TSGA Jamboree 2012," now found lower down in the listings. Cheers, Jim H.

Thank you, Roy, for your fine comment; I wish my photos were 1/10 what your steel playing is!! I especially like your Thumbstyle Steel Guitar CD which I got from you 7 or 8 years ago.

Note the typo I made in my post last night; I said 2012 when I meant 2013. This resulted from my sprained ring finger from rugby game earlier in the day. See attached photo. The young lad I tackled is 24 years my junior & VERY fast

.

I've moved my other Texas Jam photos up on the listing. Cheers, Jim H.

Paddy, small world isn't it! I played against Abbotsford old boys on Mar. 3 at our pitch in West Van. I only played first 1/2 of game as I was leaving for Dallas 3 days later & didn't want any injury!! Cheers, Jim H. P.S. Do you know Jim Molberg down there; he's a transplant from Vancouver?

Hi Jim hehe I thought as much - my brother has lived there for 20 plus years, he originally went to BC to play rugby and ended up marrying a local girl of course.

Yes I have known Jim Molberg for 30 odd years ..he lives in Auckland :-} -- he was very helpful in the early years, getting teaching material and guitars etc and bringing Scotty out for seminars.

One last photo I thought I should post. Some of you saw me shooting photos. If you've attended steel guitar shows over the years, you would also have seen another photographer and probably will for years after; I can't get to too many of the shows. Just in case you don't know who this is, this is Buck Grantham's wife, Mitzi, who has been shooting steel shows LONG before me!!

Regards, Jim H.

Mitzi is a great lady and does a wonderful job of recording all of the players. She is there for everyone of the players except when she has to go eat. She and Buck are great people and I am glad to see them each year at the TSGA show. Sweeter and better people you will never meet.

Jim I was sitting two seats to your left a lot of the time and you took some great photos using some very good looking equipment. Thanks for posting them.

George
