I'm sure that it's a great book coming from Scotty, but for that price, I better be as good as Paul Franklin by the end.

I would be interested in finding out what his thinking is behind the price. He didn't even call it vintage, rare, d found in King Tut's Tomb, or anything like that. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . It's a little confusing; I just bought a new copy for one of the two grandchildren who started playing pedal steel a couple of months ago - for $34.99.
By the way, a great source for almost any book is www.powells.com in Portland, OR. |

I sent a message to him, asking about the nature of the auction, but he hasn't responded yet, for some mysterious reason.
I've seen crap like that on eBay before where you have astronomical prices for things. I once saw a whole ProTools system for sale, and mind you, it was fully loaded with some outrageous number of tracks/conversion and I think multiple engines (not control surface as I recall, because it was before those days) but they wanted like $3 million for it. What's the motivation behind those auctions? Don't ask me.
Maybe they are hoping someone will accidentally hit the "buy it now" button or something. Maybe they are hoping some naive/crazy/senile person will buy it for no reason? Long odds, but let's face it, the con-artists in Nigeria are still at it so I guess if you have a 1 in 1,000,000 chance, but you do it a million times, maybe you'll get your wages for the year. |

I agree Duane, as I've seen things being auctioned at prices 2 - 3 times what you can buy them for new at an on-line music store. You need to know the product you're looking for and at least what price a new one sells for, if not, oh well. |

That's because questions to him are $150.00 each, paid in advance of course. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Before you guys get too excited about the price, remember, this is the "Deluxe" pedal steel course, not the standard. Everyone knows you pay more for the upgrade. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |

Only in Les Paul guitars was "Deluxe" less costly than "Standard" |

Dewitt gave me a copy of that book for free. I thanked him. Had I realized it was a $10,000 book, I would have thanked him harder. _________________ GFI Ultra S10 Keyless

Wasn't that the same guy who was selling a Sho-Bud Maverick for $2500? _________________ Emmons LeGrande II, GFI Ultra, Sho-Bud, BJS Bar, Hilton Pedal, Peavey Session 400's, Nashville 400, Martin, Ibanez |
