Does anyone know of a modern replacement tuner for the old Bakelite Ricks? Mine has a very thin post, about 7/32" or less. Also, four of the position markers have fallen out. They appear to be plastic dots of about 1/8" diameter. Is this a common problem? Anyone have any advice on replacing them?

There are actually a couple of different tuners used by Rickenbacker over the years on those B6 lap steels. Post a picture of the one you are trying to replace so we can offer better suggestions.

The dot markers have been refilled with various materials, including toothpaste and putty. Do a search on the forum for other suggested fillings.

i replaced mine with individual open gear tuners (chrome buttons). i think they are made by waverly and mine are branded cf martin. they didn't require any change to any holes except slight enlarging of the screw holes on the tuner brackets. they look and work well.

White Out also works really well for the dot markers

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Especially like the tips on toothpaste and whiteout -- very clever and should be easy to remove if need be.
