If it plays as nicely as mine does, you'll be a very happy camper.

It's an eye-catching finish - very nice.

How heavy are these guitars - as heavy as Sho-Buds? They always look so substantial that I wonder if weight's a serious factor. (I'd like one but with blue instead of red... Smile )

Thanks guys. This has been a dream of mine for three years and thanks to my wonderful wife we were able to get it. Roger it the weight is light compared to older Showbuds. I have only had a chance to set behind it 2 times very briefly as the showpro room is packed almost all the time it is open LOL. I started out with a 4 and 4 and then it turned in to a 5L and 4p. The sustain is very good and I would compare the sustain to all of my Thomas guitars I owned since 2005. Better that the GFI for sure. Jeff made 2 minor adjustments and it fits me well.
Roger not sure of the exact weight but I would guess about 21 pounds give or take. It is heavier that my GfISD10 Ultra but the sustain is there if your are wondering about that. I put the E66 on it to get a middle of the road tone. I can go high and low depending on the EQ setting I need for songs. I am a very blessed man to have a great wife who love country music and steel guitar as I do.

Roger
The Show Pro is lighter than the Sho-Bud. Jeff had a beautiful peacock blueburst SD10 in the Show Pro room here in Dallas. Looked a million dollars. I am so pleased with mine - both cosmetically and tone-wise. In fact tonally it has exceeded my expectations. The 24 and a quarter inch scale means it doesn't die above the 12th fret like some 'Buds do.

I am just going to pack it up ready to take on the plane with me, and will not breathe properly until I get it all home in one piece. I had the split cases made for mine.

Ken

Thank you John - much appreciated. I travel back to England on Tuesday. I spent a lot of time in the Show Pro room and I can say quite categorically that Mikey Johnson is not just a class act as a player, but is also a class act as a person.

Jeff & Gloria are 2 beautiful people. I love them.

Thanks, Ken - do let us all know when it's home safely (and you, of course!!!)

I've just had another enjoyable gig playing my Zum Encore - I really should change a couple of strings, though!!! I can easily imagine a Show-Pro SD10 in my future - blue and maple (no sunburst or shading but more like the ZBs we used to know). My ship's going to have to come in first, though... Whoa!

PS: I recall seeing Mike play at the NTSGA many years ago - breathtaking, and he was such a pleasure to talk to as well. Tommy White also played that night so you can imagine the talent overload, can't you???

Roger
Hope the Roland/Zum combination is still doing it for you. Your back will have already noticed the difference.

Talking of Zums, I am thinking of getting my old mate Mark Giles to make a new lacquer body to replace my faux woodgrain mica bodied D10 Zum. I'll get Ron Mawn to exchange the undercarriage from old to new body. I spoke to Mark yesterday, and we are both keen for it to happen. Will let you know.

In the meantime, I suspect that my Show Pro will be at #1 in the pecking order of my guitars gig-wise. My mates back home can't wait to feast their eyes on it. Laughing
