Hello,new friends!
I recently aquired a 1957 (I think) double-
neck steel guitar from an old gentleman. I
have never played a steel guitar, but I have
been playing a regular six-string acoustic and electric guitar for 35 years. I would like to find some instructional material regarding stings and standard tunings for this instrument.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Congratulations on the steel guitar - you should have a great instrument for starting out.

I'd recommend the Cindy Cashdollar videos by Homespun Tapes as a good way to get going. She teaches beginning Western Swing using the C6 tuning (bass to treble A C E G A C E G) and does a good job of it. The videos come with a small tablature book that's very helpful.
