Most of us tend to shy away from the high markers re: above Fret12. I decided to do some practicing up there and what better song than this past big hit of the immortal Hank Williams.
Again 6 string lap steel using C6th. Don Helms used E6th so he could get the high sound without going up as close to the pickup. On my C6th one has to be more careful and really watch where you're goin'
Both tuning setups have the same intervals but a different story when it comes to playing the higher positions. This is a great workout.

Beautiful as always Roy. I've been enjoying doing the Don Helm thing on Gibby..(Gibson console grande). Of course I'm using the E9th tuning on my top neck.
Tune's Cold cold heart, I cant help it, Half as much, B Bowman hop, Mansion on the hill, Babby We;re really in love, Hey good looking, Walking after midnight. Keeps me busy trying to do each one at least once a day. PHEW... Ha. I still think you've got the greatest touch and sound. your friend Lee
