yeah I know dumb question I have a guitar here I am working on and I have came to the conclusion that the pedal rods are not long enough. its a guitar someone build and has a number of issues and this is one of them. its a 49, 50, 51 52 you know the J cash deal. I am going to put a sticker on it and call it Half Breed when I get it working. it will make a nice guitar has heavy knees and pedals and also the rodding is off as well. I just need a few of you guys to measure your rod for me lol yeah I know whats your thinking but serious a few examples should set the norm up and then I can check these

My sho-bud pedal rod just measured out at 25 and a 1/2 inches. Right at 26'' with the pedal connector on it.

The easiest way is to go to a hardware store, and buy a rod coupling, the same size threads as your rods have, then buy a machine screw longer than what you need to extend your rod. Wind the coupling onto the screw, so when you cut off the screw to size, you can chase the threads, (getting the burrs off), so you can thread the connector onto the new threads. There is a post a few months ago, where it shows you a picture of a coupling, with the threaded rod in it. I have done this to my Sho~Bud rods, when I raised my steel up a inch and a half. Takes a few minutes per rod, and works great. Ronnie

Or instead of a bunch of machine screws, buy a foot or two of threaded rod (all-thread), and cut as needed. Should come out much cheaper

Or instead of machine screws, buy a few different length set screws with non pointed ends. They require no cutting. Just try different lengths until you find one that works. They are cheap. Then go back and buy the remaining the size you need. Any good hardware will have what you need. Don't forget locking nuts for above the coupler.

I posted the picture of the connector and set screw for an extention on another post. The one I posted was for a 10-32 thread pedal rod. I got the set screw and connector from Ace Hardware in Fairmont. Ace had no ALL-THREAD to fit a 10-32 thread that is why I got the hex wrench set screw. Good Luck and Happy Steelin.
