I've got a Peavey T-40 bass body and I'm wonderin', could I use the p ups for a lap or console steel? What do you think?

If the pickups are blade style (i.e. no pole pieces) then sure. Kinda depends on what sort of sound you're going for as well. Alumitone pups work pretty well for steel AND bass.
