quixotic fool that i am, i'm trying to learn to use the volume pot and my little finger in the same way normal people use foot pedals and their feet in order to create violin-like volume swells.

intuition tells me that for this to work the pot will need a taper/impedance value wherein most of the "work" is done across fairly small portion of the arc.

questions for anyone who knows the answers:

1. is my theory right?
2. any suggestions as to impedance and/or taper for such a pot?

thanks in advance for your help.

Here's a link to information on pots.
http://sound.westhost.com/pots.htm

Keep in mind that the ear responds to sound in a logarithmic manner so a log taper pot sounds linear to the ear. Therefore viewing the graphs may seem to indicate what you want but it may take some experimenting to get the sound you want.
