I wanted to share with everyone that my friend, Bernie Hauser passed away on December 17th. I just found out a few days ago when his wife called to let me know. His passing was very sudden and I've since learned from her that he was only 78 years old.

Here is a link to his obituary.

He was a very long-time steeler that was well known around the Portland area. He purchased his Emmons guitar new in 1964 and had enough inginuity to fabricate his own knee levers for it! We were not long-term, close friends but I had gotten to know him fairly well over the last few years and we were certainly on the same page when it came to our shared interest with Emmons push-pull guitars. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunith to have known him. May he rest in peace.

I remember Bernie. He always wanted me to play his old Emmons with the Day set-up. Although I only knew him at our steel jams, he always was very enthusiastic and interested in all the players. May he RIP.
