Here are a couple of extracts from the Chansons Via Country t.v. show. Sylvain Pouliot is sounding amazing on his Pro II and many of you will recognize on his right Jean-Guy Grenier filling the lead guitar spot on this particular series. These two guys are both wonderful musicians. The singer is new to me but he does a real nice job too! Enjoy.

Wow what an ensemble! The singer is great, he gave me the familiar shivers up the spine. Sylvain sound so fine and confident. Great tone! Jean Guy ...what more can be said? A steel player of world class plus a talented multi-instrumentalist!

Here's another one from the same show. That old Pro II is some tone machine. ( in retrospect I guess this is a Pro III...hard to see but it's a square front )

Terrific band all around. Besides that, these big production network awards shows should send their guys to school up there to learn production values and audio. That's the way it's done.

Bent, I don't know anything about that singer, it's the first time I've heard of him but he is very good isn't he?
Clyde, regarding the production, I've often noticed that there does seem to be particular attention to detail. For one thing the level of respect for the musicians is apparent in the way the camera shots are planned to show off every solo. In those big award shows you mention they often either ignore the musicians or go to a camera shot featuring the wrong player. Sad
I know this one probably doesn't belong here since there's no pedal steel featured but anyone who's interested in seeing a bit more of this house band's talent check this out. Multi-instrumentalists Andre Proulx in the ball cap and cowboy Guy Gagner. ( Jean-Guy on bass this time)

I think that lick is this if in G say...
strings 8,7,6 3rd fret...then again at 5th fret B pedal down...then again at fret 8 no pedals, then fret 10 with B pedal down.

All on those 3 strings, i don't know what key they are in, so i said it in G as an example.
I play those style runs with thumb/1st finger/2nd finger and tilt my picking hand in slightly. I have tried the thumb bounce/dance method, but it slowed me up terribly, but i have seen some amazing players lay that down with a thumb and a finger. I know i'm wrong, but it's all i could muster up. Very Happy
