Two of the best steel tones I've ever heard someone playing live were my friend Danny Cormier and Boo Miller. On both of these occasions they were playing a Mullen Pre RP thru Peavey amps. These earlier model Mullen steels have amazing tone and play so smooth!

Over the weekend, I had the chance to play Gary Hogue's 1990 Mullen. At Jim Lindsey's house. It was the easiest playing steel, I have ever played. My next steel is definitely going to be a MULLEN.

The pre RP's are great guitars! They have that classic Mullen tone. The new ones are great but for my dead ear the pre RP's are the best. And when Mickey gets through with a rebuild..well..it dosen't get any better than that!
