I need something reasonably powerful, fairly light, and not too expensive. I know... but let me know if you have something reliable you don't need. Thanks. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

I have a new Tube-Tone clone of Brown Fender Vibroverb, with bias mod tremolo, 45 watts, 2x10. The one I have has been used a few times on a few gigs but is still 'new' condition, for $1500. _________________ Sierra U12 4+5 / 1933 Dobro / homemade Tele B-bender |

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe if you're interested. About $375 + shipping. Actually I have another one as well. The second one is mounted in a JN Newell 4-10 cab with 4 Jensen alnicos speakers. I'd need about $700 for that one. _________________ On man....let the smoke out of another one. |

Do a search here on the forum for the Roland 80X and XL and how steel players are favoring them over the Peavey Nashville 112. If interested, I have one for sale here on the forum with a 6-button footswitch for $295 plus s/h. The amp weighs only 35 lb.

I'd part with my like-new Nashville 1000 for $425 + packing/shipping/ins. Probably 6 hrs total time on it. |

many thanks, guys, I've owned all the Peaveys, looking for something lighter but still powerful. Experimenting with an Evans right now. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

That Nashville 1000 that Dave has is a steal for a Steel. It is a little heavy but if you want head room, I don't think you'll find it in a light weight amp.
Unless you use a QSC power amp with a seperate speaker cabinet. I just happen to have a QSC-PLX 1202 that is 325 watts @ 4ohms & 600 watts @ 2 ohms. and that would be doubled in bridge mode and only about 30 pounds.
Good Luck,
Bob |

If you're having trouble finding a good clean light weight amp, Why not take an existing amp that you have and split the cabinet into a head case and speaker case? Just a thought. |

It's a great idea, Don, exceeds the woodworking/covering skills and time I have at present. I got hold of a nice Evans SE200 Hybrid, but I'm still having the same issues of it breaking up when cranked. Starting to wonder if the output of my chain is too stout... BL705 on a Show Pro into a Telonics VP, so I'm thinking that's not the case. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com
