Just saw the trailer of the new Coen Brothers film and was floored to see that it seems to be based on Dave Van Ronk's life. In the trailer for the movie called Inside Llewyn Davis is the famous cover of Dave Van Ronk's Inside Dave Van Ronk, except the main character of the film is in Dave's place.

I studied with Dave for a year, so I can't wait for this film.

Seems to be a good film. The trailer starting with the mention of Jim and Jean made it instantly interesting for me.

Cool! I'll be seeing this one. There were some of in my crowd who were big on Dave Van Ronk.

After we glommed onto Dylan in junior high and into high school, the whole Greenwich Village scene opened up for us. Van Ronk, Eric Andersen, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, etc.
