In these tough economic times, I realize that for some of you, travelling to Nashville to take a "Boot Camp" is not feasible. That being said, I have taken steps to make it more affordable and available.

Beginning Feb. 11, 2013, "Boot Camp" sessions will be available on Skype! These sessions will be done in 2 hour blocks, day or night, weekday or weekend. You may book up to 3 sessions a day. Each session will be $50.00. Payment will be accepted via PayPal only and must be made 12 hours prior to the session. Please email me for schedule availability.

I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have and am looking forward to hearing from you.

Okay; I couldn't wait any longer!
Look; here are the facts
1) You won't find a better player
2) You won't find a better instructor
3) You won't find anyone who's mastered both necks
4) You won't find anyone who is gifted in any genre
5) You won't find anyone more patient
..and you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home! I'm not sure why he didn't do it earlier but here it is! Any skill level is welcome. If you've played for any length of time you've heard him. If your fairly new; ck him out on youtube!
Sounds like a no brainer to me. Make sure to record your lessons. You'll always have them to refer back to and believe me, there will be plenty to refer back to!
Mike; your fixin to git busy! Greg

Mike, I know I'll be called nitpicky for saying this, but I wonder if you could find a term other than boot camp to describe your course. Boot camps are physical and they're tough. How can sitting in your living room and working on your computer possibly qualify as boot camp? It's become a common term and has totally lost its meaning. Real estate gurus use it all the time for their seminars, and it always makes me think they must never have gone through a boot camp or they wouldn't use the term.

I'm on a one-woman campaign to stamp out the misuse of "boot camp" and "hero" and "myself," and to get people to stop saying GOO instead of Opry. Yes, I know that's called tilting at windmills. You may ignore me.

Diane,

While I respect the fact that you have the right to have your opinion, I respectfully submit that you should also allow others that same right. The reasons I decided on the "Boot Camp" name for my school ten years ago were as follows:

1. At that time, Jeff Newman was still living and teaching. His one on one program was called "Top Gun School". (Note the military connotation.)

2. This program was designed to be very intensive and very fast paced (i.e. a military training program).

3. My family has a long history of military service and this was a nod to that service.

4. I did and still do feel this was a thought provoking title that did and still does create interest.

This being said, I am sorry that you have taken offense to the name of my school, but I see no reason to make a change. Probably the best reason for the name is that I LIKE IT!!!

I didn't say I was offended, and I'm not. "Liking it" is always a good reason for doing something.

Gary,

You can get a webcam at Walmart for $20.00 on up that will serve the purpose of this. The HD ones are a little higher but nowhere near that high.
If you have any questions about the Boot Camp via Skype just email me.

Sonny and everyone else. All you need is a webcam with microphone [$20.00 at walmart]. Skype is FREE. Compare that with price of lesson plus,1. Transportation to Nashville. 2, Cost of motel/hotel room. 3, Food. You are getting the same instruction at a fraction of the cost plus, you won't miss any work or playing gigs if you don't want to.
There are 3 different time slots 6 days a week to choose from. Very Happy
