I've forgotten which input on the FET-500 LV is better for the pedal steel. My amp is a Darrell Stephens era amp, black face with the effects loop on the back. I seem to remember #2. My pickups are 18.5K. Suggestions? |

18.5 is a little hot, I'd lean towards 2.
Or you could try #1, and switch back if you overdrive the input.
I run #2 myself, except when I run a splitter and use both
EDIT: I confound things by running an Izzy Plus set for a fair bit of gain (i like the edge) _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

I use input#1 with great results and I also run hot pickups.

I have been using an FET500 LV for 30 years playing through #1 with no problems. I keep my master on about 2. Keep her clean and she runs perfect. _________________ Carter D12, MSA S12, 12 String Custom Made Non-Pedal, Evans FET 500LV, Evans SE200, Peavey Nashville 400, Fender Steel King |
