Hi Walter.
Two names comes to my mind based on the arrangement and style,I am thinking of Hal Rugg, sounds very much like a Loretta Lynn song, and Hal`s sound, but I also think that It may be J.D. Walters with Freddie Hart`s The Heartbeats.A typical Freddie Hart intro and sound.A wild guess, but!

Did the Heartbeats cut an instrumental LP? Here's a clip of Freddy Hart doing "Easy Lovin'" and you can see he kept a hot road band w/ J.D. Walters on steel. The guitar player on "Easy Lovin'" sounds like the same guy on Walter's clip. But like Eqil said - it does sound like Hal.

I'm inclined to go with Lloyd Green.

The track comes from the album "Freddie Hart Presents The Heartbeats" (Capitol ST 11431)and the Steel Player is J.D. Walters. The album includes several instrumental versions of Freddie's hits. Smile

Kind Regards, Walter
