Well, as of February 10, 2013, my contractual agreement as Neal McCoy's steel/fiddle/guitarist will come to an end due exclusively to financial constraints.

I gave official notice by turning in my letter of resignation after our show in Louisville.

Neal is an incredible entertainer and if it has been a while since you have listened to his music, I urge you to please give him another shot! He sings as good as he ever has and still entertains everyone who comes to his shows!!! I am gonna miss him and everyone that I have been working with for the past year!!!

I have had the opportunity to work along side of some of the best musicians and singers in the business! Our drivers are awesome!!! Our merch guy is the best!!! And Even though our road manager has one of the hardest jobs in the business, he kept us alive and fed and housed as best he could! I would never want your job, Les!!! LOL!!!

I will still work the next 6 shows in El Cajon, CA; Las Vegas, NV, Chicago, IL and Boonville, MO.

Check out www.nealmccoy.com for the schedule and I will see you soon when God opens the next door for me!!! Thanks everyone!!! This was not an easy decision!!! But it was an essential one!!!! Thanks Neal, for a great year!!!

Mike,
Sorry to hear that. Seems like the steel man is the first to get cut. We just live about an hour from Boonville Mo so we might try to make it. Would love to meet you if we get to come.

Sounds like the pay was a little short.

Sounds like Michael "cut" the band, not the other way around.

Yes, I made the choice to leave. But I really had no choice. It was costing me more to get to work than I was making. Not that the pay was bad, but just that driving 12 hours to get on the bus resulted in extreme expenses for gas, food and sometimes lodging. I came up with about a 5k deficit for the year. I cannot afford to do that again.. Couldn't afford to do it once... I know everyone is hurting, but I simply can't work for free and pay to play...
