Hey gang -- got my new GEEEE-tar yesterday, and man, it's sure sweeeeeet! It needs new strings, that's for sure ,and a clean up, but otherwise very nice.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use to clean up noisy pots? They're not horrible, but noticably scratchy. Although, I've noticed that the more I use it, they seem to have gotten a little better. I think I remember hearing of a spray or something, but not sure.
Anyway, I am enraptured with the steel. It's like when I was 13, and my dad bought me a "Zim-Gar" electric guitar and a Kustom 3x12 (!!!) amp and cabinet! I practiced from the time I got home from school until bedtime. I couldn't put it down. Well, here I am 40, and I feel like a kid again. What fun!
Thanks for listening to me gush.

Thanks, y'all. I've been playing all morning, and the pots just needed a little TLC, I think. I don't believe this has been played too much recently. It will get the attention it deserves now, I'll tell you that!
Thanks for the cleaner advice, too. Yeah, fortunately, I knew better than to spray WD-40 in there, thank goodness! I may not need anything now, but if I do, I'll pick up electronic potentiometer cleaner from the electronics shop.
Now, it's off to buy fresh strings. These are deader than doornails. Seeya!
