When I started playing the lap steel about 2 1/2 years ago I used a Lap Dawg bar. the I started using a Dunlop bullit bar. With this bar I had trouble pickimg it up and going to a different spot on the fretboard.I been trying to play clearly and sound like I can playing lead on my reg guitar. So I went back to the Lap Dawg and seem's to me that's my playing is clearer closer like a guitar when playing lead. Do they make a bar like the Lap Dawg but longer like a bullit bar? How come some day's my notes sound real clear and on other day's like they have a little buzzing sound?Could it be the Amp settings? I using a Fender frontman 25 Jerry |

I am pretty sure that Dunlap makes a "Lapdog " that is longer than the standard bar. I think it is called a "Longdog". Nice bars with a clear tone. _________________ "Shoot low boys, the're ridin' Shetlands" |

Shubb has a Robert Randolph bar that has straight ends like a Stevens bar but is longer and larger. There are actually 2 RR models so you might want to ck them out. Ron Tipton makes sculpted bars for the dobro and he will make you a custom bar. The lap dawg is a copy of his popular bars. You might want to get contact info for him. _________________ Steve |
