Thanks John! You confirmed that I was on the right path with my steel. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

I love this song also and I do it on a regular guitar and I'm trying to get a reasonable facsimile on a non-pedal steel, which means I'll probably get transferred to that forum.
For the intro:
I started on the 5th fret (5th to 3rd and back on the 1st 3 strings). Then up to 12, 14, slide to 15 (strings 1&2), then down to 5,7,5,3 (strings 1&2) then slide up from 3 to 5 (2nd&3rd strings). Does this sound all right to any takers? Does anyone have the tabs for this song on a non-pedal steel? |

Rob, you haven't mentioned what tuning you're using, but I imagine it would be hard on a non pedal steel without a bar slant or two ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

HI John,
Yes, that would help wouldn't it? I am in a regular G tuning, altho I might try a Low G tuning. I am just doing the intro and hitting the 10th fret for the opening chord after the intro. I am new to this thing so I am just getting to slants. I am taking lessons and we aren't there yet but I will look for some slants to get that cool "rock On" sound that only a pedal steel can give. Thanks,
Rob |
