It used to be great fun in the early years of the forum having players have a say on names and guitar ideas; so I have the first one in fifteen years...
The double neck Melobar/Telecaster called the Steelgitr(see the melobarted.blogspot.com site for history) is entering the next generation using a donor Fender Tele then adding the Melobar side - body is still shaped to fit you better but what I really like is by using stock Fender models; you can upgrade the neck, pickups etc. very easily.
Now the new name...how do you like Tel-O-Bar using the old Mel-O-Bar logo design.
Of coarse if you don't like it and come up with another name, you'll have to pay for the trademark _________________ old Melobar guy

Actually the guys at Fender have treated me amazingly well, Larry Brooks took me into the the Corona office some years back and they were incredibly gracious and nice, classy bunch that respected dad's past history with Leo and proved there still are some really good men at the corporate level.
By purchasing the Tele and keeping the receipt, nothing is taken away from Fender. All the Fender parts are left exactly as is, so legally it is reselling a used Fender, that just happens...to have a Melobar stand up steel now attached. _________________ old Melobar guy |

Tel-O-Bro it is, sold the first one so it's officially a model. I really dig the way these fit your body and play - Rusty Young nick named the Melobar the Bear, Jeff Peterson called the Melobro the Cannon Banjo slayer but I think this double neck is the "Killer" I love the reaction it gets when people look at it, like you just pulled a 50 caliber machine gun out of your guitar case too much fun, don't tell my wife...she thinks I'm working. _________________ old Melobar guy |
