Topic: Every Emmons player would want it |

I know it wouldn't be a big seller at all but it'd be great if the Emmons' experts collaborated and wrote a book about the company and it's guitars.
You know:
- A chapter on the company's history.
- A chronological year-by-year history of the guitars and the changes in construction and features through the years.
- A chapter on "one-off", unique or oddball Emmons.
- A chapter on push-pulls.
- A chapter on LeGrandes
- A chapter on student models
- A chapter with interviews of the greats' specific guitars and their reminiscing about all those years they've played them.
- A chapter on maintenance.
- A chapter on other Emmons' non-guitar products.
- A pictorial chapter on the Emmons that "take your breath away."
- A pictorial chapter on the greats' Emmons.
- A forward by (who else) Buddy.
Of course, every chapter would be packed with mind-boggling trivia, details and pics. It would be the definitive reference book.
Heck, I've always wondered why someone hasn't done a calendar yet.
Again, a book like that wouldn't be a big seller AT ALL. But, boy, wouldn't every Emmons player buy one.

Nowadays it's pretty easy to put out a low-volume book without losing your shirt on it. It's called "print-on-demand."

If you want, you can just start writing... projects like this can acquire momentum as contributors start popping up wanting to get their share of the story told. It's not a process that lends itself to the coffee table "guitar porn"-type books with page after page of high-grade photographs. I don't know - e-mail Buddy and Ron Lashley and see if they'll agree to some interviews, and take it from there. |

| Most of this info, and a LOT more, is already available to anyone who can do a little searching, either right here on the Forum, or on the web. Please realize that when you're talking about the Emmons Guitar Company...and Buddy Emmons, you're really getting into some rather "sensitive" territory (for lack of better words). |

Anyone can publish an ebook at no cost. Like at Smashwords. All you need is a properly formatted Word document and a cover. You can also do a print version for free at Amazon's CreateSpace. The big problem with self-publishing is promoting the book, but that shouldn't be an issue in this case.

I have a pretty good month to month calendar for the first 23 guitars made the first seventeen months. The guitars were changing every month in 1964.

Be careful what you print.
You could run into legal issues.
Ron L's reply to the "Tuning a Push Pull" post (at the top of this section) indicates some sensitivities to the use of the name. |
