Congratulations to Barb Berg, new Forum Member from The Great State of Washington. Final bid was $625.00 and was posted at 11:56 PM. PST
This is how we will handle the transaction: bob takes paypal so that is the quickest and securest way to get the funds to the Forum. Barb, I would appreciate you contacting bOb directly and when he informs me the transaction is handled I will carefully pack this bit of sweet Fender history and send it to you.
I will pay for the shipping and insurance as never expected this item to reach the figure it did.
I want to thank everyone who participated in this event and I learned something about Fender and lap steel history from Doug Baumier who jumped in and started the bidding and Joey Ace for his offer and the fellows from Texas who were enthusiastic to the point of tears.
Finally, Happy New year to all and this was a bunch of Fun for me to do |

Barb is into C6 and last night I changed the strings to the proper gauges and tuned the Fender to C6 and in the process of including a note with the information.
Barb: When you receive the guitar I hope you post how you like it and maybe include a picture as I would like to include it in my note book.
Regards,
Lenny |

The 1957 Fender Champ is on it's way to Barb in Washington and it it packed as snug as a bug in a rug and definately gets the 2013 green biodegradable bubble pack award.
A UPS tracking number was forwarded to Barb so she can follow the tracking progress.
It's gonna be Christmas in January in about 5 or 6 days!

Whaaaa Hoooo! Got my SWEET girl yesterday! Ran to the music store and bought a cord to plug into the fender. My Supro cord screws in, did'nt have a regular cord. When I emailed Len about receiving my little gem he told me he could of sent me a cord also. He has donated enought! What a great guy to converse with by email....for all those that don't know him, his sense of humor far surpasses Red Skelton (anyone remember him?) As for my new (old) instrument I could't put her down, she just sings! You have one HAPPY lap steel player on your forum. I'm happy this donation helped the Forum! |

Hey Barb:
I am so glad the Fender landed safe & sound and you are enjoying this piece of Fender History. I was 8 years old when that guitar was made and I am no spring chicken.
In this day of throw away items old Fender instruments have held their place in time and value.
I took the liberty of "auctioning" this instrument and have other gear I want to donate over time and all funds to the forum. Let me qualify this, "gear I can lift".....
Regards,
Lenny |

Hey Kevin & Joe:
Thanks for the words of kindness & support. The SGF rules in my world and it's good to help out a bit. It also good to know that the person who now owns this guitar will have a ball playing it.

Lenny |

Hi again! I have been playing this Fender since the day I received it. In another week I'm in a fund raiser concert to eventually purchase a building we've used for 10 years as the "cozy home for performing arts". Its a hundred year old church in Snohomish Washington. We've had open mike every Fri. night for the last 8 years and we put on concerts twice a month. Lots of well known artist's perform here.I believe David Lanze was our last performers? And I am proud to play "Cold Cold Heart", and "Sentimental Journey" with my new old 1957 Fender! This is due to Lenny's generosity, and my luck in having seen his post last month! |
