Hey guys. I was finally able to locate this video of me playing a cover of Paul Franklin's version of "Billie's Bounce". I was about 15-16 years old here...probably about a year or so after the "My Baby Thinks He's A Train" video I posted. This tune was played on the C6th tuning by Paul, but I had figured it all out on the E9th tuning. I did a LOT of that. Oh to still have that much time. Winking

Sorry for the video quality. This was the best I could do with it.

For the impatient folks, the solo starts right after the 1:30 mark. Cheers!

-Travis

That was great. What do pedals 1 and 5 do ? 2,3 &4 standard ? What knees do you have and where ? I've gone back to a SD10 but I love C6 .

Let me try to remember what the setup was on this guitar...
Pedal 1 lowered 5 and 10 a half tone.
Pedal 5 lowered 5 and 6 a full tone each. I believe it is lovingly referred to as "The Franklin Pedal" by some.
Pedals 2 3 & 4 were standard A B & C pedals.
LKL Raised 4 & 8
LKR Lowered 4 & 8
RKL Lowered 2 a half and a whole, and 9 a half
RKR Raised 1 & 7 a whole, and 2 a half

Enjoyed your YOU TUBE clip very much.

All sorts of fellows/gals can play the heck out of steel guitar with their HOT Picking and endless run together riffs, etc.......

but, I must compliment you for the breaks that you take. It's like a trumpet player taking a breather. Where you put them was perfect.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Super nice. You had more chops at 16 than most of us will have in a lifetime.

Haha, thanks. I think I had more chops at 16 than I'll probably ever have again too. Winking

Ray, I appreciate your comment. However, I can't take credit for this solo. I am covering Paul's solo, which is indeed great. About the only recent thing I have of me playing from my own vocabulary, and in this frame of mind, would be this clip...

Hey Mike. Yes, about 99% of my technique is pick blocking.
