Has anybody else ever pondered the idea of taking an old maverick ( or any other changer for that matter) and installing it onto a coffee table. Maybe something with just 3(a,b,c) pedals since knees would be difficult to operate due to table height. It would be awesome to have it towards the back side of your coffee table, maybe even fabricate a nice cover to hide to strings. Take off the wood cover and viola! instant practice station while watching the tube or just a neat piece for the steel enthusiast. I'd bet more than most of you are capable of such a thing. I'd be willing to buy if you could make it happen.

A couple of years ago a new whiskey bar moved into town that also sells fly fishing gear. I got joking with the owner that he had two of my favorites covered and if he could get a steel guitar and a cot, I'd live there.
Then we got to thinking it would be great to build a pedal steel into the bar top, plug it into the sound system and play along with tracks, etc.

Do you remember those ironing boards contained in a shallow closet and hinged to the wall ?
Do you remember Kelly Beds, that fold up against the wall ?

What about a steel guitar hinged to the wall of the toilet, so that you could practise during your "Wee Wee Hours"? Laughing Winking

(A friend of mine has bookshelves in his toilet/reading room.) Laughing

And I have been in more than one executive restroom that had a telephone with a long cord (remember those?) on the wall! Also had a request to make a mini coffee table from a D-28 guitar top, complete with an ash tray where the sound hole is. Sorry if this topic drifted a little.

My uncle was a tank driver during WW2, until his tank was blown up and he was too injured to continue in combat, so they transferred him back to England, where he was assigned the job of bodyguard to Winston Churchill. Churchill had a telephone in his toilet with a direct connection to Roosevelt and Stalin, which only his immediate staff knew about. He would excuse himself to go to the toilet when he needed to consult with them.
