Beautifful Emmons LL2 for Sale D10 8+5 1991 Oak finish mica (Emmons setup) mint condition. Many times spend for cleaning and adjusting this beauty and she he has one of the best the Emmons tone i've ever heard and the sweetness is incredible. this guitar is delivered with wrench, docs, string set... and Emmons stereo volume pedal.

Hmmm...raise helper springs on an Emmons LLII!! Anyone else curious about those?? Maybe the factory was experimenting with installing those during the "Strayhorn Era". Hopefully Jack will chime in to clarify.

no no Lynn, it's a home made system. Springs are attached to the highest hole of the raise finger. Easy to uninstall (5 min). A very good upgrade in my opinion.
I know the price is high for the US market, but fair for the european.

Thanks for letting us know about those helper springs and how you put them in. Very interesting concept but I've never felt the need to have them in an Emmons LeGrande.
Good luck with the sale! I'll bet there's someone in Europe that will snap this beauty up.

raise helper = as sweet, but shorter.. I can obtain a very good average because those raise helper are adjustable directly from the nylon tuning area.
I can talk more easily about that technical aspect, that I suffer from polyarthritic disease and my ankles are very steep. That's why i'm constantly looking for the best setting for my steel (Especially regarding the length of pedal courses and sweetness).
Anyway, those springs are completely removable in 10 min if needed.

| Lynn, tried the helper spring idea during the testing for the LeGrande II, something Hal Rugg wanted us to try. Found no need for it and was a nightmare trying to adjust. When trying help the raises you are doing the opposite for the lowers. The LeGrande is closely balanced with a slight advantage toward the raise. The opposite for the Sho-Bud which is why the helper spring concept was needed. |

| I can't see any reason why helper springs would shorten travel. You could adjust leverage at the bellcrank for less travel and then ease the tension added by doing so with the spring. Is this what you are referring to? |

That's what i'm talking about when i said "shorter course". In fact it's the possibility to soften a high belcrank position. Having screw adjustment for the raise helper direct from the changer makes the adjustment balance easier.

I do like the idea of where you are going for adjustment. Our idea was borrowed from the lower return springs on a push-pull, with rods and set collars. Not easy to get to for adjusting.
If this concept is of an advantage to you, congratulations. |
