I don't usually toot my own horn, but I wanted to share this tune, "Walk Around Heaven," a gospel tune originally done by the Caravans. I've been putting all my tunes up on YouTube, and I'm about halfway done. I just added this one and wanted to share it, as I think it's quite lovely. It's from the album "Strong Like Bull...But Sensitive Like Squirrel," which was recorded about ten years ago.

Joe, by all means, continue to toot your horn, play your steel, and give us great music. Thanks hugely for posting your stuff on Youtube. I now playing them one after another!

I enjoyed your performance very much.....
Your exquisite technique and creative flair were most pleasant to the ear. I didn't have to separate any of the olde familiar licks of earlier BIG NAMEs but instead, heard all new, flavorful sounds all of which were exciting and enjoyable.
THANKS for sharing.

Joe I have two of your recordings and you most definitely have your own style and sound. Really great tone, and original approach, and you surround yourself with accomplished sidemen. I enjoyed this tune, will be listening to more of them on YouTube. Are you still working at the Rip Tide on Sundays? I still want to get up there and see you and Eddie K one of these nights. |

Thanks for all the kudos, they're much appreciated. I can't hold a candle to the really good players, but I think I do have something to offer. Yes, I'm still at the Riptide on the second Sunday of the month. The sax man is Rob Sudduth. He plays with Huey Lewis.
OK, you've sat through my rendition, now you have to hear the original, it'll kill you. Truly, this is what gospel music is all about.

Thanks for sharing that, Joe. It really is a beautiful piece. Did you use the Zum on that track? Thanks,
