Is it relatively redundant on C6 to raise 4 and 8 a half step (A-Bb) on one knee and raise 3 and 7 a half step (C-C#) on another?
I can see some different uses for each in combinations with other changes, beyond their similar capacity to provide a dominant seventh on their own. But, if one has limited numbers of pedals and levers and thus has to make choices, might the lever that has C-C# perhaps be put to better use?
Thanks.
Dan

Both have their separate uses.I find more use for the A-Bb lever, but others swear by the C-C#. Which pedal combo gives a dom7 with the C#? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Richard, I meant that each, on its own, gives one a dominant seventh. I suppose if you applied both changes along with the 5th pedal you could have an F# dom. 7. |

I still don't see where a C# is a dominant 7th tone, with or without pedals. It would have to be played against a D# chord to be a dom7. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Hey Richard...at fret 5, it's a D dom7 (especially if you raise the middle C too...it becomes the root at that inversion) If you also engage the trad. pedal 5, you get a D6. It's often been compared to the E-F KL on E9, for really similar reasons.
I raise both C's to C#, and like it alot....but if I had to choose, like you I'd choose the A-Bb! |

If your guitar has tuneable splits, you can raise the third string with pedal 7 while lowering with the C to B lever for a major third. The whole step raise on string fourth gives you the ninth. I use this in combination with pedal 8. I have added a lever for the A to Bb change. If I added another lever now, it would have to be a whole step lower on 6. |
