Well it's been a whirlwind of activity, including a welcome month off of the internet. My cd, "The Tapper" is finished and I should have cds in my mitts shortly.
In the last month, I have had the great pleasure of seeing/hearing ace steeler, Jim Pitman as well as well as The Campbell Brothers, who were in Woodstock, Vermont. Their playing is always fantastic and such a pleasure to visit with them.
I also visited several times with Jerry Fessenden. It's always such a treat to see what guitar he's working on and he usually has a beauty on its way out the door.
Jerry may be in Nashville now.
Visiting Jerry's shop always brings back good memories of different steel "nests" I have visited in the past, like the shops of Duane Mars, Bobbe "He Moves A Lot" Seymour, Sho~Bud, Paul Beard, Buddy's lair, Mitsuo Fuiji, Sierra Instrument Company, Jimmy Crawford, John Ely (Austin), Tom Bradshaw, Red Rhodes,to name some off the top.
I have been wanting to jump in on Zane's thread, but want to spend more time reading the thread, before throwing my cent in.
I had the pleasure of communicating with Scotty several times in the last month and was super suprised to hear that he is 80 years young. Time sure flies.
I plan to attend next years convention and look foward to visiting with my fellow steel greasers.
Happy Holidays all! _________________ Excel 3/4 Pedal With An 8 String Hawaiian Neck, Sierra Tapper (10 string with a raised fretboard to fret with fingers), Single neck Fessenden 3/5
