Are any members here going to be on The Cruise To The Edge (http://cruisetotheedge.com)? I am going and really looking forward to it. I am a giant fan of a lot of the 70's era prog rock and Yes are one of my favorites. I recently learned that they are playing The Yes Album, Close To The Edge and Going For The One in their entirety, all in the same concert, on this tour. It isn't clear that they are necessarily doing that on the cruise but I hope they do. See http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=183391. If they let me pick the 3 albums it would be Fragile, Close To The Edge and Tales From Topographic Oceans... but I will take what I can get.
Steve Howe of course slides around on the steel guitar a bit.
I am looking forward to it.

Sounds like a great trip. Although, I don't think Jon Anderson is with them anymore. Were you aware? |

Strangely I never cared for them after their "Yes Album", and this is still a favorite of mine. Steve Howe is a great guitarist. Enjoy your trip! _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

I hope these guys are treated better than most musicians who do the cruise ship tour gig. I did a six month tour for the Princes Lines and would never consider doing it again. The baggage got better treatment and accommodations than we did. |

Yes, I am aware that Anderson is not with the band. Fly From Here isn't a bad album. The vocalist is cut from a similar cloth as Anderson. It isn't the lineup I would assemble as The Dream Team, but a fine bunch of musicians with some fantastic music to perform. I am looking forward to it.
I recently discovered that they are playing Louisville KY the same weekend I will be there for NFAA Indoor Archery Nationals so I will probably catch them there as well.

That definitely isn't the case for my tastes. The 1st 2 albums were not my thing. The Yes Album was great and then the next 3 are just phenomenal landmark pieces of prog rock history.

That tune and Supper's Ready (Genesis) probably compete for my favorite prog rock tunes. I love that stuff. _________________ GFI Ultra S10 Keyless

Sounds like great fun. Yes & Pink Floyd were the soundtrack to my high school days in the 80s. Couldn't stomach the popular music of the day, these two bands in particular saved me. I got to see Pink Floyd 3 times since Momentary Lapse of Reason, and Yes twice since 90125. Yessongs & Yesshows were my favorite concert albums - some of the best music they ever made, even better in concert than the studio versions, IMO. |

Jeff, honestly I'm no expert on Yes, indeed the only record I know quite well is the "Yes Album".
Back in'69 or '70, I've seen them play in a small hall in Frankfurt, and it was the loudest thing I've ever heard... my ears were ringing for days. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |
