Wallace True-Tone Dual Coil Pick Up vs. Tonealigner
At present I am using a Tonealigner in my S12 and everything is fine, no complaints.
Recently I read a comment that the tone of an Emmons has a lot to do with the single coil pickup (in addition to a Kazilien other reasons).
Anyone tried this change or can you give me some feedback on whether or not the investment of time for change over would be “in your opinion” worth it.
Any and all comments are welcome
Thanks

Tonealigner is very close to a single coil sound.
I like em.

I use a pickup similar to Tonealigner, and replaced a Trutone with it....not on a push-pull, but anyway, I found that the bottom end of the Telonics was way more interesting than the Trutone....and the adjustability makes it easy to tune your whole signal chain to get the sound you need....so I'd say that the tonealigner should be able to get you where you need to go...

One of the cool features of the new MSA guitars is their modular pickup system that lets you swap pickups instantly, without taking off the strings or soldering any wires.

Some people like to have a lot of different pickups. I see the system as an opportunity to try out a lot of different pickups and compare them and see which one you prefer. So I went to Jim Palenscar's shop and did just that, and after comparing the Truetone, the stock pickup, which I think may have been a George L, an EMG active pickup (loud, but harsh), and the Tone Aligner, I bought 2 Tone Aligners.

I've not yet tried the alumitone or any of the different models by Telonics. Maybe I will like one of them more. But so far, I like the Tone Aligner more than any of the others.

Thanks Mike my Sierra’s had a similar feature regarding quick change pickups.
Thanks for the comparison test.
By the way one of these days I’m going to down your way perhaps I’ll give you a call.
My Tonealigner is working fine and like I have already hear “If it ain’t broke…..”

I just put one of the Telonics pickups in an Emmons LeGrande I have and it beats anything I've ever had in it before. The highs are very clean and crisp and the lows are nice and boomy. I have not had a chance to adjust the poles as it was intended but just out-of-the box it sounded great.

I tried a tonealigner, but the output was so weak, only about a quarter of what would be expected of a humbucker, that I ditched it.

Maybe there was something wrong with it, as everyone else seems to be happy with their tonealigners.
