Hello All,
I just found and purchased a Peavey Nashville 400 on e-bay because it was recommended as one of the best steel amps if you can find one. I am getting back into playing steel guitar since I left playing 27 years ago when i was only 20 years old and lost my Sho-Bud LDG to a pawn shop. In the near future I am planning on acquiring a Emmons Lashley Legrande II or III. The Emmons is something Ive wanted since the early 80's ( pretty expensive for a boy in his mid teens at that time even til this day !! ).
I was wondering when Peavey started to make the Nashville 400 and when they were discontinued ? Is there a way by looking at the serial number one can tell what year it was manufactured ?

I think the Nashville 400 came out ca. 1985, it came between the Session 500 (aka Hernia 500, awesome sound, but heavy) and the Session 400 Limited, which rolled out around 1990.
I suspect Peavey might know about the age _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects |

My Nashville 400 is a 1984 model (actually bought it new in early 84) and I believe they were first made in 1983. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

I have a Nv400 (and still use) that I bought new in 1982 if memory serves. It would have been no later than 1983. |

You can go to Peavey's support page and open the '31 yrs of stainless steel' pdf article for some approx. dates on their amps here: https://peavey.com/support/steelguitaristinfo/
There is a way to date amps by the serial number, but I don't know the method offhand. |
