Maybe this has been broached before. I heard Bing Crosby's Mele kalikimaka on the radio this afternoon and there was some great Hawaiian steel at the beginning. Just wondering who played the steel.
Thanks,
RG

I have that song on a C D , "Bing Crosby's Hawaii" with the Andrew Sisters and I believe that was probably recorded in the late 30s or early 40s and I don't believe Speedy was recording that early . Most likely was probably a studio musician , there were a lot of Hawaiiam Guitar players around in that time frame . Dick McIntire did the backing on a lot of real good Hawaiian songs with Bing but that doesn't sound like Dick either !! Would be difficult to definitely identify that player !! Eddie "C"

Ray,
I've got a question for you.
I am decorating my music room with some posters and wondering if you know if that "Masters of the Hawaiin Guitar" poster is available anywheres? There are pictures of the old Hawaiian musicians along wiht a picture of a Rickenbacher fry pan on the poster.
Thanks!

I got to play that tune last year at a Christmas concert and I had more fun than I can express. Felt like I'd been waiting my whole life to play that steel part!

That's great!
I have an Epson Photo printer and I just printed out the two posters on glossy paper. They're not as big as Andy sold but they turned out real nice!
Thanks!
