Where do the rest of you buy recorded music that you like?
My favorite music is, what I call, traditional country, western swing, and some country rock (if not over done). I am really disgusted the way the big chain stores market music. They don't have much of what I want, and they combine all styles of music together, with no rhyme or reason, making it hard to find what I want. 'Kinda like trying to sell men's jeans in with the russet potatos. Is this a new productive marketing technique? I don't buy music from them anymore. Now I listen to XM radio and country music on TV. When I hear something I like, I go to the web, find it and order it.
What about the rest of you? |

It's generally the same for me, no "decent" record stores right near me anymore. I usually get CDs from ebay or Amazon, cheaper that way. Occasionally direct from the label or artist website. And (hides face) very rarely, as with the new Jamey Johnson Cochran set, Walmart. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

There's a German mail order catalogue that i get every three months and that's where I order. A very small business I suppose. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Great music stores are still around in the Bay Area - Amoeba, Rasputin, Down Home Music (home of Arhoolie Blues Label)... FYI, Down Home has the new Freddie Roulette cd in stock (and available via mail order): "Jammin' with Friends"
