I'll be attending the showing of a new film which details the historic ballroom and it's long list of famous Hawaiian entertainers. I intend to ask pertinent questions of the ladies that will be there discussing those exciting times as they experienced them. If anyone is interested in posting their own questions I'll add them to my list, mostly concerning the steelers they may have insight to and hopefully garner some surprises.

Ron,
Be sure to take some pictures. It would add to the story! Cool

I will be looking forward to the report also.

Aloha, Smile

I intend on taking my video cam to get pix and A/V of the discussion. I don't have a tripod yet, so it'll be tricky, my first time using it for something of importance. This may be the coda for these few remaining performers and I want to make the most of it. I wish I'd seen the film, that'd help with immediate questions. I'm putting a questions list together, hoping for some quality input from this forum!

Hi Ron, I have the original of this photo. I think it is 1941, just before the band left for NY. I have identified most of the back row including steeler Tommy Castro, George K, and Alfred Apaka. On the left, leading the girls is Meymo Holt. I'd be much obliged if you could get IDs for the other dancers. The scan is in higher resolution which I could email.
